Code Club this week was very interesting… Last week we started coding a scratch game and this week participants decided that they worked so hard last week that they wanted a week of fun and we continued on with Code Combat. Code Combat is an excellent resource for learning python coding in a fun environment. Everyone had a great time and they look forward to what the last few weeks of Code Club brings. This week in robotics it was all about learning how to attach an Ultrasonic Sensor. An ultrasonic sensor allows a robot to “see” in front of them. This allows the robot to react to obstacles in front of them or to code that has been programmed for robot to do. In a sumobot competition, the ultrasonic sensor will allow the robot to either pursue an enemy or to flee from an enemy. It will be very exciting to see what participants choose to do with their robot for the competition.
