Week 5 Fun

This week in robotics we started to learn about how to code a robot to follow a line. This was exciting for the participants as it got them thinking about how they could use this lesson to their advantage in the Sumobot challenge.  The lesson started with learning about how to successfully attach an colour sensor to their robot and learning about the different code that can be used to make the colour sensor work. Once they learnt all about the code, it was then time to code the robot to follow a line that was taped to the floor. The participants did incredibly well, they all had a robot that could follow a line.

Everybody was very excited about learning how to use the colour sensor because it is one step closer to building their ultimate Sumobot!

Week 5 code club was incredibly exciting. Participants started coding their very own game with only a little bit of instructions. This was to test participants on how well they knew block coding and how well they can troubleshoot their code. Everyone at the start of the lesson got to choose a game; we had games ranging from space adventures to coding a city to collecting colours with a spinning wheel. Everyone was very intrigued with what their game would look like once they had finished it and they were very excited to be able to finish it in next week’s lesson.

Well done to the participants in such a great week of code club!
