Today in robotics, participants started to think about coding their Sumobot. They put into practice everything that they have learnt over the past six weeks and they began to learn how to keep their robot in the Sumobot arena. Firstly, the robots had to differentiate the black rim on the arena, to the arena itself. So the participants started coding away and testing and coding again. Once they had that all coded, it was up to them to then code the rest. They could choose if their robot would seek out other robots to push them out of the arena or if they wanted to evade the other opponents. It was completely up to them. Next week, it will be exciting to see what robot does what and who the ultimate champion will be!
Welcome to Code Redlands
Code Redlands is a coding and robotics program dedicated to creating a an environment where we can explore, learn and create. With Digital Literacy a new focus for the future, we want to augment digital literacy skills by offering space, technology, and facilitators. We hope to equip the next generations of Queenslanders with STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) skills to find their own place in an increasingly digital world.
Redland Libraries offer School Holiday Activities throughout the year for children aged 8 and above.
