This term in STEAM Club Capalaba, attendees learnt the basics of scratch and how that can be applied to different technologies such as Makey Makeys.
The first few weeks of Term 2 were about learning and familiarising the attendees with Scratch coding and how we will be using it throughout the term. After they breezed through the first few weeks, the next set of activities were aimed at using the coding skills that the kids had learnt, and applying that to creating a musical instrument and a gaming controller. The instruments and gaming controllers were both constructed with cardboard and a Makey Makey kit and coded using Scratch. The kids loved making their instruments, controllers and games as it allowed them to be as creative as they liked with their decorating and coding styles! So many great games, designs and colours. Well done to term 2 participants! You all did extremely well.
