Week 5 Code Club was all about Spheros and it was this week’s task to code a Sphero to make it “Ice Skate” on the Library floor. The aim was to use the drag and drop Sphero coding to complete a routine that put the recent Winter Olympics to shame. And the participants definitely did!
The lesson started off with the participants learning how to code their Sphero and they had to learn the basic codes for several routine moves. It was then up to the participants to put everything they learnt into practice. They could choose everything from the colour of their Sphero to the length of their routine. It was definitely spectacular!
Welcome to Code Redlands
Code Redlands is a coding and robotics program dedicated to creating a an environment where we can explore, learn and create. With Digital Literacy a new focus for the future, we want to augment digital literacy skills by offering space, technology, and facilitators. We hope to equip the next generations of Queenslanders with STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) skills to find their own place in an increasingly digital world.
Redland Libraries offer School Holiday Activities throughout the year for children aged 8 and above.
