This week's code club was all about making games with Scratch. Everyone was hard at work completing Level 1 of their games, which included a maze, a player character and prizes that contributed to the player's score.
Close to the end of the session, the participants got to take a look at some of the more advanced game emulations that the Scratch community has made, including a version of Super Mario and Fruit Ninja. Paper Minecraft was a bit controversial for the Minecraft purists in the audience. Besides having a go at playing the games, the participants were asked to click on the "See Inside" button for each of the games, which showed all of the code that it took to make them up. There were lots of looks and sounds of wonder from everyone. Next session, everyone gets the opportunity to either work on their story or on their games, so stay tuned to see some of the final products. If you are interested in seeing the progress so far, check out our projects from last week.
