Week two of Code and Robotics saw participants practice learning Scratch in Code Club and learning how to get the Lego mindstorm Ev3 robot to go from one line to another.
Participants in Code Club practiced their Scratch coding skills by coding a boat race game. Participants needed to create a background for their game, choose a boat avatar which they then coded and finally creating a separate costume for when their boat hit an obstacle. Everyone was very excited to create a game and worked very hard to complete their game. Well done to the participants for a great lesson.
Robotics week one was all about assembling a Lego Mindstom Ev3 robot and in week 2, participants finished building their robots and learned how to code their robot to go forward and backwards.
Welcome to Code Redlands
Code Redlands is a STEAM and robotics program dedicated to creating a an environment where we can explore, learn and create. With Digital Literacy a new focus for the future, we want to augment digital literacy skills by offering space, technology, and facilitators. We hope to equip the next generations of Queenslanders with STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) skills to find their own place in an increasingly digital world.
Redland Libraries offer School Holiday Activities throughout the year for children aged 8 and above.
