Monsters were the theme of last term at Cleveland with our participants asked to make a Kaiju. Our narrative was that our baby was kidnapped by an evil corporation in Megalopolis, we had to rescue our baby, take it back to the sea from where we rose and accrue points from successful detection, collecting the kaiju baby, destroying the city, monster design and the area the Kaiju traveled. Over 7 weeks we designed our Kaiju, with monsters based on scorpions, turtles, crabs, dogs and even elephants. Learning outcomes included design thinking, computational thinking, some new conditional programming and of course the joy of watching your Kaiju destroying Megalopolis!
