This term our robot wranglers have been attempting to recreate the classic retro arcade game of pacman.
Designing their own version of pacman, each team races against the clock to find the fruit before their time is up or a ravenous ghost hunts them down.
This term at Cleveland we have been learning to code sphero robots.
The spheros use a very simple block based coding, that's intuitive to use but a little fiddly to get just right.
Our crazy coders have learned to put them through their paces, coding an array of activities from mazes to mini golf and soccer.
STEAM Club over that last few weeks has been full great fun and fantastic coding! We have been covering Hour of code, Light bot, Sprite box and discovering an array of STEAM based activities based around Popsicle sticks and art.
The participants have created:
The students have done such an incredible job with developing their coding skills. Next week students will have a go at coding with python on Code Combat.
Welcome to Code Redlands
Code Redlands is a STEAM and robotics program dedicated to creating a an environment where we can explore, learn and create. With Digital Literacy a new focus for the future, we want to augment digital literacy skills by offering space, technology, and facilitators. We hope to equip the next generations of Queenslanders with STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) skills to find their own place in an increasingly digital world.
Redland Libraries offer School Holiday Activities throughout the year for children aged 8 and above.
