Session one of code club this term saw our 15 participants building a simple circuit. We learned a little bit about electricity, talked about circuits and how they work, how to determine the resistance needed in a circuit using Ohm's Law, and most importantly how not to burn out their LED lights. If you want to see what we did, check out the handout here.
Next week, we will be throwing a couple more LED lights into the mix, and more importantly, adding some code to make the lights do stuff. We should also be attempting to name the group. I am personally hoping for some inventive names.
Welcome to Code Redlands
Code Redlands is a coding and robotics program dedicated to creating a an environment where we can explore, learn and create. With Digital Literacy a new focus for the future, we want to augment digital literacy skills by offering space, technology, and facilitators. We hope to equip the next generations of Queenslanders with STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) skills to find their own place in an increasingly digital world.
Redland Libraries offer School Holiday Activities throughout the year for children aged 8 and above.
